With the expansion of Twisted Images Photography we have been
throwing around the idea of adding a Studio so we can expand and do more
studio work, rather then limiting ourselves to only on location work.
After throwing this idea around with my husband we came to the
conclusion that we were gonna turn the basement into my studio.
Hahaha....this was and is easier said then done.
You see...our basement resembles a Halloween Haven, which wasn't a
problem up until this point because Eric and I are Halloween gurus. But
for a studio, this certainly wasn't going to work. Bright pink
insulation with bare beams showing for a ceiling and bright orange and black walls just were not going to cut it for a Photography studio.
So, starting two weeks ago we began to tackle the basement in hopes of turning the 'frat house' basement into my new and improved studio.
Covering the insulation and bare beams with a wood ceiling, new lighting
and wiring throughout, and new paint. Changing the look of the whole
basement and making it look much larger and a lot better then before.
As you can see above the lighting looks amazing, it even inspired Eric to restore the bar he made a number of years ago. Of course it isn't done yet, but for only working on the basement for two weeks, I think we're getting somewhere quick.
Now that we have the ceiling, walls, hall, and lighting done. I am
tackling the steps. These one hideous steps are now going to be a dark
mahogany stained top with a cream face, to match the studio.
We're on a roll! Can''t wait to get finished and get to shooting in the new studio!
